valentines day flowers delivery - Help fill the Valentine Express

MORRISVILLE —Hey, Mid-York Weekly readers! Hope the New Year is treating you well. It has been a mild winter so far; however, should we consider this the “calm before the storm?”

As you know, Jan. 16 is Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. One way to honor him is to do something for someone else. Dr. King said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: ‘What are you doing for others?’”

Deepest sympathies go out to the family and friends of Marion Van Wyck.

In the “Milestone News Department,” Stan Davis is turning 90 years old this week. Esther, his wife, is also celebrating this week and has one more year in the “Octogenarian Club.”

The Morrisville Community Church is a hopping place! You are invited to ride on the valentines day flowers delivery Express at 1 p.m. on Jan. 17 in the Morrisville Community Church Fellowship Hall.

Remember the fun in making valentines and how much fun it was sharing them with special people? Spend an afternoon of fun and fellowship and help make valentines to fill up the Valentine Express. The valentines will be delivered to Crouse Community Center on Valentine’s Day.

Materials will be provided; participants just need to bring scissors. If you want to make valentines using stamping materials, you will need to bring your own stamping supplies.

This event is sponsored by the Presbyterian Women’s Ministry Team. For more information, call Maxine Hunter at 684-9278.

The Morrisville Community Church Outreach and Evangelism Committee will be sponsoring a FREE “Frivolous Family Fun Night” from 6 to 9 p.m. on Jan. 20. For more information, call Natalie at 684-7476.

And, don’t forget the pancake breakfast that will be held from 7 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21 at the Morrisville Fire Department!

The Lions Club is “roaring” with activities. Their bottle and can drive will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Jan. 21, and in February they’ll be having their Super Bowl drawing. Look for more information in future columns.

That’s all for now - take care and have a good week!

Morrisville correspondent Tom Lemery can be reached at 684-7535, P.O. Box 101, 28 Eaton Street, Morrisville, N.Y., 13408. Items for this column will be accepted until 3 p.m. on Wednesday each week unless there is an early holiday deadline.
